Does it even occur to you that it's a simple fact that a majority of, for example, academics, cleave to a very particular political and philosophical viewpoint? I could show you the surveys, if you want, as if data would make a difference.
Something like 9 out of 10 black people vote Democrat. This is a simple fact. Is this a "conspiracy?" Or more to the point, is simply mentioning this fact the same as claiming the existence of a "conspiracy?"
If you're not going to look up "conspiracy," then look up "information cascade" or "peer pressure."
