>"I say let 'em cash in their IRAs........."
That's allright to hear from a man who takes the bus to work a few miles and lives on flat land.
You don't need a four wheel drive to get up the mountain, a pick up truck to haul feed or lumber and you're not transporting kids to soccer games. I lived in Florida too and had a spiffy little car that got 38 mpg. I must admit, seeing Hummers on the road down there that were clean as a whistle made me know it was wasteful.
Up here in the mountains, almost everyone has a SUV. I've been looking at what's available and if you want to sit and ride in a box, get yourself a new Honda Fit.
Subsidies for businesses?
Look, the American family is already going broke. When Congress took the foreclosure problem to the House and Senate, what happened? They bailed out the banks, NOT the American people. If We, the People have to suffer in the pocket book, then so should the businesses. After all these "market prices" are being driven up by speculators. THOSE are the people the gov't needs to be going after.
Wait, with Cheney's secret energy policy, that's who they are anyway.
