I think everyone misses Fox, much as they miss MA and others who are here less often either due to work or disagreements. Robert uses the pub analogy, but I am loathe to do so, because the type of discourse here is NOT the discourse found in a pub.
The Zone is older and I'm hoping the new version will be public so we can get some fresh perspectives here. No one here is going to change their outlooks much anymore and debate or discussions have less and less freshness or benefit. Only the social aspects remain and who wants the HZ to be a site that goes like:
Poster 1: "What you doing?"
Poster 2: "Oh I'm watching Oprah"
Poster 1: "You too! What did you think about that last guest?"
Poster 3: "Oh it was a real hoot last week. Anyone see that?"
Poster 1: "Yeah that was a kick! hee haw hee haw!"
If the HZ ever gets to be like that regularly, I'm hoping that "mysteriously" hackers from all corners of the Earth will take down the server repeatedly with DOS until Robert finally gives up on it. The HZ deserves a clean death, preserving the memory of what it was, rather than to become just another mindless blather BBS and demeaning the wealth of human insights, dreams and aspirations so recorded.
