Not all meds work for all people. They just need that option on the table for those who need it. By prescription.
I.E., there were 3 meds on the market that helped with osteoarthritis pain: Vioxx, Celebrex and a 3rd one whos name I have forgotten. I took Vioxx and it worked well. They took Vioxx and the 3rd med off the market (with good cause) and i tried Celebrex which was still available. I couldn't take it, got some bad side effects. So now I'm stuck with Advil or Tylenol, neither of which manages the pain and inflammation anywhere near as well as Vioxx did.
