Earlier this week you accused me of offering cookies *to disarm*..if I understand your lengthy explanation correctly.

I do NOT consider this a disarming tactic. I consider this a personality trait of mine...and obviously...to you..it is a glaring flaw. This does not compute with me and I am trying to understand.

McFly was upset...and I think the world of him. I like TB... I was trying to play *peacemaker* if you will and Boy! Did it backfire! You took immediate offense to something that I do all the time...[and I *thought* was acceptable.] I just wanted McFly not to be upset with TB. I childishly thought I understood where TB was coming from...and McFly mis- understood. I am finding out that the sociosemantics in the political arena here in the Zone is very different than the casual comfortable conversation in Off-Topic and Community.
Because I am totally unaccustomed to political debate, I am terribly awkward with it. It appears that there are different rules of engagement that I am not aware of yet...but I seek to belong and understand, debate and gain knowledge. I am trying Mary Anne.
{I want to pay you a compliment right now...but will not because you will see it as it is NOT intended]....I am genuinely confused. I feel you have taken offense of the very core of who I am...a peacemaker. I asked Art if he was *offering me a cookie* because I thought it was initially a nice thing for him to say to me....and quite honestly..I felt I had let him down.( Did I mention I am a people pleaser?) BUT after all this gross mis- understanding I had doubts about his genuineness. I was blatently asking him.
Looking back at my 2 years here it seems as though all I have ever done was *offer cookies* to everyone...and you are the first to call me on it.
Mary Anne...you *KNOW* my personal background. I do not stereotype...how can I? I did not realize that stereotyping political leanings was what people did here...I thought we were all friends. Naive...naive..naive...because I do not stereotype, I presumed others did not. I rarely read Current Events..and when ever there was a shouting match here on the Zone...I tried to steer clear...so I was stupidly unaware of the dynamics that take place with you Zoners who have been here for years when you do argue politics. I am indeed still a newbie on so many levels it would seem.

Indeed...it would seem I am learning how to hold a grudge....I always knew I was gun shy, naive and self-righteous...but I realize I am learning a new trait while being here on the Zone.
