No, it won't rest solely on Obama's shoulders, he's merely an opportunist taking advantage of an almost "sure thing" opportunity.
There are a few things that can throw off the weight of demographics, but getting into them here is like playing "what if" on the loosest scale. The demographic march is the surest, steady one we have witnessed and will continue to witness.
The good thing is, when we lose America to demographics, who en masse are opposed to the concepts incorporated in the US Constitution, then the nation has already fundamentally changed to the point all that's worth saving is the concept of the intelligent Republic - which can be reborn anywhere on Earth with any group or ethnicity of people. At that point, the masses living here clearly don't deserve the Constitution which they systematically dismantle by judicial fiat or legislative agendas to accomodate their own particular special interest/selfishness. At that point the USA becomes just like England of King George and a new group will in the future emigrate from here or elsewhere to remake some other land intelligently and where folks are hungry for intelligence.
So from a cosmic viewpoint - it's all a wash.
