Tom, I was clearly alive at the time the Republicans started taking power, and although there was some people pissed at how the Democrats ran things with the pockets of corruption and occasional sex scandal, nobody seemed afraid that the whole mess would collapse around us as many of us contemplated if neo-con rule continued.
You're talking apples and oranges here when it comes to the extent of damage done to our national character, financial status, and prestige in the world. Your rants are exactly as Robert outlined, nothing more than the bitterest of sour grapes.
You're addicted to the power and influence you felt during those abusive years and like any addict you'll have to hit rock bottom before you begin to admit the depths to which you descended.
We'll try to continue to guide you down if you can't quite reach there by yourself.
