Yucca Mountain waste site off the table?
News article here.
There is some hope that this just means looking at better storage solutions (I wasn't aware that legislation had been actually written to KEEP better solutions off the table. Idiots.) The idea of storage at isolated government facilities is a good one. A better one would be adding nuclear recycling of the high-level wastes.
Unfortunately, what it probably really means is that nuclear power is going to follow Yucca Mountain off the table. I wasn't the only one who noticed that Obama never mentioned the "N" word during his discussion of energy in his speech.
