Interstellar travel is impossible, not just uneconomical

Paradox resolved.

You know, if you really want to find out what aliens are like, try engineering some. Call it the Diversity project, or something. Greens would love that. Imagine how different species (even different families of creatures) would behave if they were made as intelligent as us.

Would a dolphin really approach science in the same way as we do? Or would it's perspective offer a novel insight, something we would never think of.

Would it be ethical to engineer a new intelligent species just to find out if it would take a different approach to space science, or mathematics, or literature. Or would we be dooming it to the same fate as us?

I say we find out.
