1 a non issue, 2 is a potential issue

A fusion rocket is not a contained nuclear reactor. Using fusion as a rocket is much easier than using it as an energy source, and represents a useful path to develop fusion technology like steam ships helped develop steam power.

Got any math/data for point 2 or are you just speculating? I've seen the math showing fusion can achieve the speeds needed to go to next door neighbor stars but don't have it memorized or a link. I can look it up if you want to continue your denial of the possibilty. This is nothing close to warp drive, but it is sufficient to colonize a galaxy in a few million years. Don't forget relativistic effects on those traveling at high speed.

Mark
