Alcaray does have a point. I can't remember the last time I used a 200 watt bulb for anything at all. I think my grandpa used them in yard lights at the farm.
The most wattage I remember using was the 150 level of a three-way bulb, and I haven't used one of those for years since lamps came with built-in dimmer systems.
I use fluorescent bulbs in most places, and incandescent bulbs in fixtures where the others don't work well, or I like the light better. If I use more or less electricity, I pay more or less. I don't need a squirrel-brained bureaucrat deciding my lighting needs for me, especially since you can bet the same pinhead is obstructing the construction of new nuclear and other power facilities.
I wonder if Cape Wind can finally get built now.
