To each his own I guess
I haven't bought an incandescent bulb over 75 watts in as long as I remember. I used 100s at one time but they seemed to burn out too fast. I am totally switched to fluorescent now.
I use fluorescent now because they last longer and this is a big thing for me. I hate constantly changing burnt out bulbs.
I use the fluorescent equivalent of a 200 watt in the ceiling of my office and the last one I changed had lasted over 2 years. If they are yellow tinted I can't tell much difference.
I thought it was technological progress and had no idea this was some nefarious govt plot. I may have to rethink my whole light bulb philosophy.
