As a senior citizen, none of the above benefits apply to me at this point in my life. The prescription benefit may be potentially a benefit but I have never experienced the "gap" in drug coverage.
My Medicare benefits have always been handled by a private carrier, AARP's Medicare Complete under Secure Horizons. I see that $200 billion in subsidies paid to private carriers will be cut. This means that I will have to pay for supplemental coverage or rely solely on Medicare parts A&B.
All this will be a nuisance to me but it is not likely to cost me more since the "free" plans through private carriers don't give you much, if any benefits above standard Medicare. They just standardize the various co-pays.
Overall it does not seem to offer much to justify the additional taxes. I guess we will have to wait and see if it is fully implemented (Constitutional) and whether it proves to be beneficial in the long run.
