flambe

I don't think this is worth a big tempest in a teapot. I was commenting on a style that I know will lead to flaming.

As I said originally, I know I'm splitting the hairs pretty finely, yet I think there's a fundamental distinction here of style versus content. There's Tom and his style of arguing, versus the content of what the rightwing mobs are chanting and shouting. Their "ideas", if you will.

I'd hardly be the first person to observe that human IQs drop like a stone in direct proportion to the size of the group. Mobs are stupid. Mobs are thoughtless, forming a sort of amoeba-like creature motivated only by a gut hunger. Calling any mob "moronic" is an observation of fact.

For a good time, and real-life examples of mob behavior to study, go sign up at teapartynation.com. They don't do background checks, and nowhere on the public part of the site do they express any restrictions on membership. Out in the real world I was accused once too often of swallowing "the mainstream media's lies and distortions" about the tea partiers, so I joined to get it straight from the horse's mouth. I was wrong about which end of the horse I'd end up studying, but it has turned out to be an education, yes indeedy!

Oh, BTW! I was browsing hundreds of crowd scene pictures last night, collectively (forgive me) depicting tens of thousands of partiers, and I spotted two black people! The tea partiers really aren't 100.00000% white.

All that stuff is locked behind the login gate, so I can't quote any of it or link to those pictures. The only way I can share is, ironically, growing TPN's membership by getting other people to go look (wonder what percentage of their 28K membership is people like me?). So go check it out!

This image I saw first on TPN, then traced it to a public site where I could link it. Enjoy!
