The "Tea Party Movement" consists mostly of individuals with the same ideas, who gather informally in protests.
It is nearly impossible for liberals to work their heads around the idea of something that isn't centrally controlled and organized, so an actual grass-roots movement doesn't really register, but I'll try.
TPN is of very little importance. I've paid no attention to it at all. Its insignificance proves my point, not yours. Most people who agree with the idea of reducing centralized state power and returning power to individuals and localities are not inspired to "join" an "official" movement. Attempts to create an official political "Tea Party" have been hooted down.
And according to the polls, there's one hell of a lot more than 28,000 people who think along these lines.
And the Democrats know it, which is why they are desperately dragging every peripheral issue they can find across the road to November. They finally got enough power to show everyone what their core ideology is. Didn't go over very well.
When you go to that march, spend some time reading the signs, and watching who's marching with you.
