Dude, I'm surprised at you. Tea Party Nation is "TPN", the root tea party, the original one and only. The ones who put on the first convention, the one with the controversy over Sarah's speaking fee. The one that's gearing up for this year's big event in Las Vegas. The one that recently allied with the second-largest tea party to create some kind of "federation" or "network". I picked TPN to learn about the tea partiers precisely because it's the definitive source.

And 28,000 is not their traffic, it's their membership. It's not like I have any stake in building up TPN, for heaven's sake, but facts are facts.

I think I see what's going on here: You and like-minded conservatives, and a lot of the media (regardless of perceived political bias), have a stake in puffing up the size of the tea party movement; some for reasons of vindication, others to encourage donors and fake a bandwagon effect, still others simply to hype the drama and generate ratings. TPN really is rather small in the grand scheme of things, and if TPN is the big fish, the dramatic image of an army of peasants with pitchforks overwhelming Washington goes up in a puff of smoke.

Politics can get so twisted at times.

On another matter: "We'll see who shows up at the great Communist Holiday Parades." Count me in. There's a major march at 4PM today from Story & King to la Alcalde de San Jose (City Hall), and I'm planning to join it. How many other people who haven't marched in years do you think that Arizona has inspired?

Actions have consequences.
