I said, "I wouldn't mind knowing what caused the explosion. Or kept the blowout safeties from operating." I've been researching it on my own, and picking up a few possible answers.

An unlikely freak accident would justify a more moderate response to offshore drilling in general than would something that is systemically wrong.
