"This is really hard stuff." Yeah. Try and remember that next election. If you can't vote for a candidate who can handle it, at least vote for one who has some humility about his or her limitations.
I'm visualizing Truman hoping for a major earthquake in Japan during WWII so he didn't have to make any hard decisions. Or wailing about how complicated things were.
I hope we get some luck, too. It's all we've got to work with lately.
