I'm sure Obama knew that from the start. That's why he waited until the last minute before taking action, tried to keep it as limited as possible, and why he tried to mitigate disaster by hedging his bets and spreading the responsibility around as much as possible. But even if he read the situation wrong, or misplayed altogether, he still had the courage to do something very risky, and that he was philosophically very wary of, while there was still time for it to possibly succeed..

If he had done nothing, you would blame him for the massacre, if he had gone in like gangbusters with a full scale infantry invasion, you would have attacked him for over-rashness, even if it had been wildly successful. If it turns into a catastrophe for American interests, you will cackle with glee.

I bet your prayers are not that he's lucky, but that the worst possible happens, so you can smugly point to his failure, and so you can find a reason to revel in and blame your political enemies for the embarrassment and humiliation of his country, my country, and yours. You're quite a piece of work, TB.
