Good.

That $3 trillion is bullshit. It comes from the Tax Policy Center, and simply assumes all the tax rates are cut without the accompanying elimination of loopholes and special provisions to maintain revenue neutrality. The Tax Policy table itself has a gigantic black warning at the bottom telling us that there is missing information. Krugman, who has degenerated into a partisan idiot, kind of left that part out.

And does anyone care that this hypothetical $3 trillion in lost revenues between now and 2021 is being applied to an accumulated CBO-calculated deficit of Obama's most recent budget of $9.5 trillion over that same time period?

Do I have to remind people that this very same Obama budget included killing the Bush tax cuts for those making over $250,000? That it included limiting deductions for the rich, taxing international income, and killing special tax benefits for things like oil companies?

As for tax cuts creating jobs? Not to hammer a point home with a pile driver, but I answered that question for you just a few posts up, along with a link to the BLS page on unemployment rates. I can actually print out the numbers in a post if I have to.

Holtz-Eakin ignored the question on the Bush tax cuts in that context because he was talking to a person who apparently failed to process his statement about "there are no tax cuts" and "revenue neutral" of just moments before. It was irrelevant to the conversation.
