Another eye opening site TB.
I have more respect for the small farmer than other occupations. I did my own growing of oats on 10 acres for a couple years with the help of advice from local farmers and it changed my outlook on farming ten fold. And I only had to rely on perticipation for irrigation and no need of pesticides or fertilizers.
The buzz at the local cafe where the farmers hung out was also an eye opener for me as these guys were very knowledgeable and opined in politics. For them to help this city boy who knew nothing of farming was commendable of their character.
