You are likely correct as you have probably spent more time participating in online communities than I have and have a deeper knowledge of Posting Behavior.
I do think, though, that Zone members are justified in expressing anger and frustration to sam in the form of Flames. If that is the best 'tactic' to make Sam go away or alter his behavior-? well, I don't know... Your guess is probably better than mine.
However, I do enjoy flaming him and reading the flames of him ;-)
