Interesting point.

There is one "God" in Christianity, and even a Commandment about it. And, it's not that simple.

Christianity adopted the idea of one "God" from Judaism. However, in it's development, it had to accomodate many pagan religions. Most Christian holidays are really modifications of those of pagan religions, adopted by Christians in order to incorporate those religions.

In another attempt to incorporate pagan religions, with plural or multiple gods, Christianity adopted the artifice of the "Trinity", one "God" who is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Rather tortured, but it worked. So, while Christianity has as a commandment, "I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt not have false gods before me", they do manage to incorporate and accommodate multiple "Gods" themselves.
