Thanks. Seems identical to the Roman Catholic trinity. While the persons behind it may be different, the names are the same. The "Father" is what we usually consider "God", the "Son" is that part of "God" which came to Earth as flesh and blood in human form, and the "Holy Ghost" is that part of "God" in which the spark of life and soul resides.
I've read the Book of Mormon, and a bit about the religion and church. Do a wonderful job of promoting community, a sense of belonging, of being a part of something greater than oneself. I have a great deal of admiration for the structure and function of the Mormons.
About a year and a half ago I was in Salt Lake, visited the area near the Temple. A very pleasant young missionary approached me as I was reading a plaque, asked me what I knew about their religion.
I replied I had read the Book of Mormon, at least.
She asked what I thought. Pause. "It's a stretch."
She was a super guide for the area, we stayed away from theology.
Thanks for the offer, though.
