It is a saddening thing to read your "logic" and moral claim that since oppressed people don't ask for help, they aren't entitled to it. Here's a plausible analogy...you've been kidnapped, beaten uncouncious, and then had your mouth taped shut, tied to a box of explosives and warned not to make a peep or you go boom. I find out that you are in such a dilemma, know where you are and that you are unable to communicate because of the threat you've been given. Using your stream of logic, I must therefore turn and walk away, leaving you to your fate and when someone asks me why I didn't do anything, I reply that you never asked!
Brilliant! I'm safe from public ignomy because you didn't ask and you get to suffer. Of course you should, by your logic, escape from your bonds and take out your kidnapper all by yourself. Otherwise you don't deserve to be free!
