No, I listen to history

"When in history has an oppressed people been freed of their oppressor without violence?"

Rarely, but it is usually THEIR [the oppressed] choice... Thats why its called liberation and not conquest. Japan did not 'liberate' china from the emperors. Germany did not 'liberate' the poles from the polish aristocracy. Ghengis Kahn did not 'liberate' the orient...

One can ASK for aid, like we asked the French and the French later asked us (Revolutionary war and WWII), but you can't IMPOSE YOUR WILL and call the war for that imposition a war for liberation.

"You lament casualties and violence yet there is no non-violent solution to remove a person who is extremely violent."

Even if this is so, I don't see how this makes a war of liberation.

"We are removing Saddam and removing the threat he poses to the US due to his desire to amass WMD. Liberation of the Iraqi people is merely a side benefit and good PR."

Okay, good to see your integrity shining through.
