Hows this analogy!

Suppose Saddam is a giant sausage, and like, The US military is a really hungry beggar... And lets suppose that sausage is sitting in a shop and... Well, that shop is Iraq and the Iraqi people are the shop keeper. But they don't want to let us have the sausage and.... Well, we should Break in to get the sausage!!

How about Saddam is darth, and we are luke, and France is Han Solo and really just needs a nudge in the right direction by... The Wookie! Tony Blair is the Wookie, because he is an awesome guy that everyone loves and always comes through in a pinch... And so, like, the Iraqi people can be the princess and Iraq is really just the death star, so we have to blow it up to free the princess and....

See how pointless argument by analogy is? Everything is LIKE everything else in some way at some time under som circumstance. Metaphors work great in poetry and song, but make for lousy reason and even worse politics.

The Iraqi people are not kidnapped. Saddam is not a kidnapper. Saddam is a monterous tyrant who has enslaved a people, yes. Those people may want to be free, but that does not imply necessarily that they want to be freed/occupied by us. and Shooting them is NOT liberating them.
