Agree to Disagree

First off, I'm with Davin L on this one (and I notice you've been silent lately as well).
It is NOT our decision to "free" the Iraqis. How many in that country?
How many of our soldiers?
Just divide that...by force.
Then look at the boomerang effect, for the whole Muslim world.
We were JUST getting their co-operation to track down the worst of their "terrorists", now they have a thousand more reasons to have MORE.
We were containing Hussein. We had a watchful eye on him.
If he would have had all these WMD as purported, he would have used them by now.
Hell, he can hardly launch any major attacks against us except with his ground forces.

We are acting like the HRS here, going in and trying to save the children from a brutal parent.
In another country!
That's THEIR mess.
The Middle East should have it's OWN coalition and ASK us to help them remove him.
No, instead we have gone in, all alone, pre-emptively to do this ourselves.
This "war" is NOT for our security, or the world's, but is the first step in an exercise to carry out the Bush Doctrine.

>Our next war in the Gulf will mark a historical tipping point—the moment when Washington takes real ownership of strategic security in the age of globalization."

Globalization is an economic term that rallies forth mostly Amercian corporate interests. Using our military to back this up is called fascism. Look it up.

ANY country stepping out of line would only have to do it once.
We have the power to annihilate any country that steps out of line.
But using our ground forces to try and "liberate" a country that calls us the Great Satan in the first place?
And Bin Laden has hated us since we put troops on Saudi soil?
That was his reason for 9/11.
Well! Let's rub their noses in it some more!

And, if we hadn't pulled out of 50 years of goodwill and hardwork to CREATE international treaties, we wouldn't be using the best and the brightest of our armed forces to test this new theory.
Hell, all those hawks who signed that document (including Perle), will soon be having second thoughts. And blood on their hands.

For those of you here who think it is just fine to squander our forces in this new "theory"; I can only say to you.....wait and see how sucessful, we really are.
We can't Americanize or liberate a whole culture without seeking it's permission first.
We only want Hussein and his henchmen, but we are going at it the wrong, wrong way.

Maybe we should have picked on China first?
