If you've got a better idea, I'd LOVE to hear it.

What do you think those soldiers should have done? Not shot? If so, nothing of this would have made the papers. Unless the car was packed with explosives, in which case a commander would be explaining to bereaved families in America instead of Iraq.

How would YOU have handled it? You've got ten seconds. Think fast.

I've got some ideas, but I'm sitting in front of a computer, and not being rushed with lives at stake on all sides. And like you, I wasn't there, and don't know what really went down.

What the hell do you want from them? What do you want from us?

We've dropped pamphlets by the millions, describing how not to get shot at. One would think avoiding making unexpected and radical high-speed moves around jittery armed men should be bred into the Iraqi BONE after the past thirty years.

This is the amount of work we've gone to to avoid killing their SOLDIERS for God's sake.

A considerable proportion of American deaths have been due to Iraqis taking advantage of our humanity and our observation of the laws of war. False surrenders. Military dressed as civilians. Military shooting from behind civilians. Bombs in taxis. Gunmen in ambulances. Cars suddenly running our soldiers down in city streets.

And an official pronouncement from the Iraqi regime that this kind of crap would be POLICY from now on.

Any chance at all of directing some of this moral indignation where it actually belongs?
