At no time did I condemn the actions of the soldiers who killed the civilians. (I believe you will allow that the 5-year-olds, at least, were civilian noncombatants.)
My point was at first, and always has been, that there needs to be some other outcome from this than just saying it was all Saddam's fault.
But if you don't think our military is any more creative than that, that it's OK not to learn from tragedy, and that it's OK not to try to come up with anything else, okey dokey.
I bet the people in charge of the checkpoints are working on it, though.
