Pilger is not only hauling around an agenda the size of a bus, but he lies in his teeth to support it.
The 200,000 figure he gives is a fabrication. More reliable numbers are in the neighborhood of 20,000, with about 10 percent of that number in civilians.
I have found no paper by the Medical Education Trust on this subject. In fact, the only "Medical Education Trust" I can find is an anti-euthanasia group.
The paper, "Counting the Human Cost of the Gulf War," supposedly issued in July of 1991, does not appear to exist in any form except as a reference in other papers.
Practically the only reference on the Web I have been able to find on this number and organization is in writings by John Pilger.
Most of the rest of the "crimes" in this article also only exist in Pilger's own mind.
Pilger believes that generations of servitude under Saddam are preferable to the pain of removing him from power. This is not surprising, as leftists like him have enthusiastically and consistently supported totalitarian Marxist regimes for over half a century.
The Iraq mass graves, the torture chambers, the children in prison, ...none of this means anything to him. The fact that Iraq did have WMD is slowly coming to light, and whatever shreds remain of this man's mind probably won't be able to handle it.
