Hi McFly,
And I knew that article would give me a torrent of backlash.
And I didn't expect it to be pretty.
But I also wanted to remind a few of these white-gloved, in-your-face- braying Conservatives over here a small glimpse of the real Iraq as it stands now, and not some washed-over propaganda they throw at us and expect us to lap up.
On the main highway in our town, there's an old car parked there, with a bomb sticking in it with an American flag in it saying "We got Sadam!" and I find it offensive.
First off, we DIDN'T "get Sadam", secondly, I find the IMAGE of this offensive.
Like the good old "My bomb is bigger than your bomb", and "I wupped your ass good!" is somehow self-righteous and all American.
To put something up like this is OFFENSIVE to me.
Someone else should be able to put up effigys of Iraqi people with no arms or legs and with dead babies at their feet with a sign saying "Please help us!"
THEN, I'd say our right to free speech was guaranteed.
And thanks for being one of the ones on this thread who avoided attacking me personally.
