Re: It's Called Progressive because Socialist doesn't sell well any more.

Excuse me Tom but exactly what is making tens of millions of dollars while your company looses money? If that's an robbery of shareholders and other employees I don't know what is. It is the concentration of wealth and resulting economic power that makes such abuses possible. Please tell me what you think are just pay scales for CEOs in terms of multiples of average workers pay. Please tell me what you think is a fair way to determine how much other executives earn. Does it match what they are getting paid? If not, why do you think they are getting paid enough to staff whole factories.

Extreme wealth creates an imbalance of power that is anti-democratic. So does a command and control economy like socialism. Like I said earlier despite the potential imbalance of power I think the potential reward of mega-wealth helps drive entrepaneurship and is fine for those that build companies. I don't believe it is good to pass it all on to noncontributing members of the family or for hired guns to reap the rewards of others work simply for grabbing the tiller. The best system is a capitalistic one where rewards are in proportion to contribution and everyone really has a say in the government.

Mark
