overgeneralization and practical generalization

An open mind is generally a good thing. Some people carry it too far by exercizing no judgement on what they encounter or retain for future use. The mind then becomes so full of garbage it becomes as ineffective as if it had no knowledge. I was giving credit for being open minded to RC, but impolitely suggesting he exercise some descretion in what he retains in the future.

My opinion on BD is well founded, my opinion on his book is not nearly as thoroughly explored but is at least based on skimming it. What do you think the chances are that someone who has a very loose grasp on science has written a good science book especially when even brief skimming reveals it considers conspiracy theories a method of scientific rebuttal?
