According to the author, the culprit is a file called 'smss.exe' which is creating the configsys folder and populating it with the spyware files and ads. The author says you should delete the configsys folder and its contents then do a search for the 'smss.exe' file and delete all of them. In his case, he'd downloaded and installed Boombox which then installed the 'smss.exe' file. In that case, get rid of Boombox. He says other downloaded programs could have installed the 'smss.exe' file as well.
