Ok, I spoke with the guy who created Boombox. He admits to the adware and says this is how to get rid of it.
To remove the ad software delete a file called 'smss.exe' in your windows folder. If your running windows 2000/XP it would be located at C:\WINNT\smss.exe and if you are running 95/98/ME then it would be C:\Windows\smss.exe.
My experience says that the folders may be different for a particular machine, but the files are the same.
Get rid of the confisys folder under windows and also remove smss.exe, wherever it may be.
You should be good now.
I suggest we all email this dude and let him know that are other ways to make money froma product besides this crap adware and spyware.
