re: those sneaky bastards

I do have Boombox, but had not used it in a long time. When I tried to use it recently, I updated it and it worked fine. It always tries to load some irritating Casion Game program and in spite of giving you a choice to refuse the Casino, it loads it anyway. Nonetheless, I update Boombox, then ran Adaware and SpyBlaster after that thinking all was well. Then I began to get the iFriends popup each time I started my pc and opened Outlook. Thanks to this site, I found all those files hiding in my C:\Windows\ConfigSys folder. Once I removed all of them, NO more iFriends.
Its great when someone makes a super neat program like Boombox, but why do they feel the need to load a bunch of irritating crap along with it? Now, I read all those little "User Agreements" carefully and you will be surprised to find all the junk they bury in there giving them permission to do so. It is giving shareware a bad name, and YES, I always donate/buy a shareware program if I keep it longer than a week and it if it works.
