I guess I asked for it

Who reads those license agreements anyway?

From the License agreement of Boombox Internet Radio Player:

AdVision does NOT at this current time but reserves the right to at a later timer at our own discretion to show users relevant contextual information and offers as they surf the Web. At this current time we will show offers we believe will be of interest to users of all kinds of users and absolutely no user information is used in the process of selecting which ad will be shown. At this current time we do not collect any kind of information from the user be it personally identifiable or users surfing habits, websites or search terms used, either locally or on our central server. We do however reserve the right to collect users surfing habit, websites, and search terms used in a non-personally identifiable way in the future at our own discretion.

(bold emphasis mine)

Well they say they don't at this time but might in the future. That's BS they do so now, in some twisted way I guess this allows them to claim they don't when they do. Since they just lied about that, I certainly can't believe the second half that says don't yet collect user surfing habits, websites, and search terms used.

I have contacted via e-mail the distributer and the software company of this nasty program. I also sent an e-mail to ad-aware (which I have been using for 3 years now) so that they can incorporate it into their updates if they wish.

PS I for one am very glad that this messages is showing up on google searches so others can be fair warned when they try to discover why their machine has just turned into a billboard. In fact its the only place on the whole internet that does shows up. How's that for a modest geek board on the internet?
