You might be right, but on the other hand, that's what a lot of people said about Iraq, too. I remember how the popular opinion was that we would be tied down in pitched battles and street fighting for months.
In fact, I think the Pentagon expected it, too, which I believe was one reason why the transition to occupation mode was a bit rough, to say the least.
