Okay, now this is getting fun again, at least for another post or two. Anybody else getting nostalgic?

Done differently? How about not invade Iraq?

Am I to assume that if our troops never entered the Middle East at all, and Saddam was still sitting there leading U.N. inspectors on the Great Snipe Hunt, that somehow Iran would not be building nuclear weapons? With their great friend Saddam the Psycho sitting right next door? Am I missing something?

Okay, say we never invaded Iraq. Hell, say we never even invaded Afghanistan. Say Al Gore is President.

So, in your ideal world, how is Iran behaving differently? Why? What would America and their buddies in the U.N. be doing to disarm the mullahs? You are aware that their nuclear program predates Bush by years? In fact, it predates Clinton? What would Pakistan's nuclear scientists be doing right now without Libya being frightened into ratting on them?

All we can do now is say: "Oh, PLEASE! Iran, don't build a nuke..."

And what the hell else would the U.N. do under the best possible conditions? Invade Iran? Impose sanctions, that have been shown to be utterly ineffective at changing the policies of totalitarian countries? What's YOUR plan?

As always, you have no alternatives. Last time you retreated to "It's not my job to come up with a better plan. Bush should have." Guess what: Kerry doesn't have any better ideas either, and America has eight months to find that out.
