Okay, let's assume that suddenly we are in a parallel universe where France and the U.N. think we walk on water, and that no finer and more internationalist nation exists on Earth than the U.S. And hey, whaddaya know, Al Gore is president, too!
In that parallel universe, exactly what would the United Nations be doing to stop Iran from thumbing their noses at the inspectors, and continuing work on atomic weapons to destroy Israel? What tactics would the U.N. and its best friend America be employing that are not being employed right this second?
