The answer you should have arrived at is that the US would have the credibility to muster international military as well as political support to threaten the mullahs of Iran. If we were not so absurdly over-extended by fighting this pointless war, we would have the military capital to make open threats of force against Iran and the international support to carry it through to its conclusion. As is, we are left asking: "Puuuhlllleeeeeaaase!!!"
