"Following Geneva protects our troops too." Bat guano.
This entire board is kindly invited to point out any damn war, police action, or anything Americans have fought in since WWII in which our captured troops were treated in any way even remotely related to the Geneva conventions. North Korea? North Vietnam? The Gulf War? This war? ANY damn brushfire war? Does anyone think that if we had kept insurgent prisoners in the Kuwait Hilton that captured American troops and civilians would be treated by the insurgents and Islamists with any less barbarism than they have shown so far?
If you ask me, practically the only nation that has been following the Geneva convention for war prisoners for the past fifty years has been the United States.
