All we have are their reports, and the actions of the holding power.

From folks who were interviewed, who volunteered statements, and who were released without charges, the reports seem to make some sense.

A couple of them have said they were pro-getting-rid-of-Saddam, not against the occupation, and essentially minding their own business, when picked up in sweeps.

Their stories have at least some cohesiveness. No charges against them, being thrown into a prison population without knowing why, and then let go.

Since there is no other information forthcoming, there were no charges, and the folks were let go, the conclusion I'm drawing is that they were at least not hard-core "insurgents", and there was no derogatory info on them.

Seems more reasonable to me than that they were real badguys. I don't think they would have been released with nothing happening except to make them and their friends and families enemies of the US forever.
