And no it isnt sound buisiness... to do what we want would bankrupt most small companies if they went for a 'prize'.... it really is simple economics... big companies arent interested because they can have people work on hundred million dollar projects instead of one multi million dollar project...
I DO know how this works, moron.... Prizes would be worthless here
However if we get what we want then we can take a 200 million dollar scope and make the hubble look amatuer... Subaru which is only 8 meters in diameter cost 700 million... Keck is the biggest scope, but cost far less to build than smaller scopes on the summit
we were built with private funds, the largest telescope in the world built for a fraction of what other smaller scopes cost.... yet you dare call us 'tax leeches' you clearly dont know shit about the facts... Keck has been the leader in planet hunting- meanwhile you just whine... we spent 200 million of private funds to build Keck- the greatest observatory in the world.... you havent done shit to advance our knowledge have you?
I think that is why you are so angry- You cant do anything of value, and you detest those that can... you have already lost... You are trash.
