Rumsfeld makes invalid excuses for administration's incompetence
When you are the attacker, you have the advantage of setting the time, place, and manner of your invasion.
For Rumsfeld to sputter ""You go to war with the Army you have,... not the Army you might want or wish to have," is either an admission of total ignorance or incompetence. In either case it is pure bull shit.
The US went to a war we plan, staged, and directed. We were not attacked, we were not reacting. We were being pro-active and Tommy Franks was allowed as much time as was needed for moving men, materials, and support facilities to the forward staging in Qatar.
We went with the army we made.
Stop lying to us Mr. Rusfeld.
