real world news sources

If you rely on the blogosphere to tell you what the MSM/SCLM/AcronymOfTheDay is reporting on, without actually ever reading/watching the MSM/SCLM/AOTD, you really don't have a friggin clue as to what is going on in the real world.

Yes, blogs can clue you in to what the mass media missed or got wrong. Other blogs can clue you in to what the first blogs got wrong. (ad inf). Always bear in mind that the majority of politically skewed blogs seldom even refer to any facts or opinions that might contradict their attack.*

But if all you do is focus in on, for example, the things that some people think should have been in the news (and if they did cover it, why wasn't it on page 1, and if was on page 1, why wasn't it in 6 inch high letters?) then sorry, but you aint living in the real world.

*As you've no doubt seen on say, Drum's site, the slightest notion of giving one inch to the right results in flaming.
I've tried this a couple of times on polipundit also. Pointed out a fact - with references - that contradicted another commenter and was immediately labelled a Bush-hater, liberal scum and liar.
