Surely you're not suggesting that it's wrong to criticise ones own administration?

He may have done an excellent piece of work to demonstrate his opinion. They're judging his talents in producing art, not the opinion he shows with it. It'd be very VERY wrong to not award him good marks and awards for his artwork just because you disagree with his opinion.

Oh, yeah. Nothing but honest and reasonable criticism here.

This is easy to shoot down, by simply applying the "reversal technique" that exposes a lot of hypocrisy.

Try and convince me that a piece of well-done artwork claiming that a Democratic president was a communist would have won awards from teachers and others. Oh, better yet. Martin Luther King as a communist. Anybody see an "A" coming out of that?

Try and convince me that the kid would not have been reamed out for calling ANYONE a communist, or even mentioning the word in any context other than history class, and that he would not have been called a McCarthyist, and worse.

The hard truth is that he got the awards because the academics largely agreed with his opinion.
