E.P. you have these bizarre obsessions and then you REFUSE to educate yourself on them... Look up what has been done with adaptive optics and Earth based telescopes- the atmosphere is NOT the impediment that you claim. Then do some research on what it takes to keep a telescope running... THEN look at what it costs to send people to the moon, much less than an observatory...
Quite frankly, E.P., your obsession is ridiculous and uneducated- until you get your act together and educate yourself on the topics that you rant about, you are going to look like a fool.
