In the history of Texas, many have claimed the land. First it was the Native American. They had migrated from Asia and down into North and South America.
Second were the Spanish and French. Both claimed parts of Texas at one time. Then the Mexicans revolted and formed Mexico.
The Mexicans granted land to immigrants (mostly American). But soon the Mexican government feared these non-Mexicans becoming too powerful and revolting, so they tightened their grip. These non-Mexicans, mostly Anglo-Americans, didn’t like the Mexican Government tightening its grip on them so they revolted. The Mexican government ending up causing the very thing they feared.
From a Mexican point of view, it would look like those ungrateful Anglo-Americans, who we so graciously allowed to live on our land, stole it from us.
Of course, from the Spanish View, those ungrateful colonist stole the land from us.
And then, the people who are the only ones to have a real gripe, the Native Americans, can say those damned Spanish stole this land from us.
And since I have Seneca and some Comanche blood running through my veins, I say “Get off my land!†:)
